Pink Bustle Dress

Pink bustle dress made for the PEERS Debutante Ball set in 1885. With the exception of the buttons and thread, the rest of this was made from fabric, ribbons, and trims from my stash including the pink and lace window valance bought at a thrift shop. The lace trim was from a roll from Laurie. Crocheted, beaded, shell trim that had been on sale and stashed away. Darker pink moire taffeta lost its print when washed. Lighter pink moire didn't match the another piece.

BodicePink moire polyester taffeta bodice, pearlized buttons down front, ribbons lace through buttonholes in back, synthetic gathered lace trim with pink ribbon on front, faux pink polyester satin collar along front, piping on part of front top and bottom edges. Back overskirting pleated into bodice with offwhite lace and pink trim around edges. Part of lace valance on top of back skirt. Artificial roses and off-white ivory ribbons on each side.Pattern base Butterick 3012 .

Pink and offwhite crochet trim with hanging beads and shells. Hidden side pockets, skirt pleated into set waistband with inner drawstring, hook and eye back closure.Pattern base Simplicity 5457.
