[20161210] After my fiasco of trying to make a business button down holiday shirt using an older pattern, I did more searching on the internet and found a host of muggle sewing blogs that had made button down shirts using Butterick B5526. Most of them had used View D with princess seams so I tried that one first.
Pattern: Butterick B5526 Womens Button Down Shirts Printed in 2010. Shortened sleeves by 1.5-2.5".
[20161210] Poinsetta red and green print on black background cotton print long sleeved shirt with faux double collar buttons
down the front at at cuffs. Dart and gusset in front and darts in back.
Pattern: Butterick B5526 View D with princess seams, made with long sleeves. Size 14.
Sleeves shortened 1.5" ended up still too long. Flat-felled shoulder, princess, sleeve, and side seams.
I wasn't looking for princess seams. However, the print on this fabric hides the seaming unless worn under a lightweight squirrel sweatshirt.
I wanted a holiday button down shirt to wear to work... and to wear under
this squirrel sweatshirt. Princess seams show a little under thin sweatshirt. Not super obvious in this
photo is the skiing squirrel with festive red holiday hat and little bling jewels.
