1850s Reproduction Blue Victorian Ballgown commission was made to be worn
to the Rite of Spring and other Victorian balls.
Dress is made out of a cobalt/royal blue synthetic washable faux silk dupioni with a net and sequined bertha with ruched trim.
Skirt is cartridge pleated, hook and eye closure in the back, has hidden side pockets and a grossgrain
ribbon drawstring on the waistband. Lightly boned bodice laces up back and has a drawstring in the neckline.
Pattern was based on McCall's M4744 for the bodice. This pattern was used with the hope that the arms would
have more movement than other restrictive off the shoulder Victorian evening dress patterns.
Inside of the skirt showing the hidden side pockets, the inner waistband drawstring, and some cartridge pleating.
