My original plan was to make a 1790s transitional dress that looks like a cross between a chemise dress and a Regency dress. Some others were making panier side hoop dresses with caraco jackets. I had enough fabric to make two dresses, so went with this earlier 1770/1780 dress first.

I changed the back shoulder seam from on top of the shoulder to angling to the back. I made the back a V neck. I also moved the armholes up because even the models on the pattern cover have a weirdness from the armhole being too big. I set the two sleeves in slightly differently and am not sure I like the shape of the sleeves so may take them out and try again or alter. I lined the jacket with a light tissue linen, cotton, rayon blend from Joann Fabrics.
